چکیده

Abstract A 55-year-old man was referred to neurology with worsening headaches and right-hand numbness. An MRI brain demonstrated a hemangioblastoma but also large right sided frontoethmoidal mucocele. The only sino-nasal symptom the patient had unilateral nasal obstruction felt this well-controlled steroid spray prescribed in primary care. Nasendoscopy showed pus emanating from smooth mass anterior cavity. CT scan features of large, expansile extending across both frontal ethmoid sinuses, lateralising septum, dehiscence lamina papyracea. underwent image-guided endoscopic sinus surgery drain mucocele which filled considerable amount seen have eroded all lamellae. Sinonasal mucoceles are collections mucous, lined epithelium, thought be more common third fourth decades (1). They usually caused by as result an obstructed sinuses can follow trauma, inflammation or occur spontaneously (2). Once identified, is standard care prevent complications expansion infection. In case report, along imaging intraoperative photographs, we further describe our approach experience managing

Fronto-ethmoidal mucocele as a cause of unilateral proptosis.

MUCOCOELE of the frontal or ethmoidal sinuses is an uncommon cause of unilateral proptosis which may produce considerable difficulty in diagnosis. There seems a natural tendency for these cases to be sent to an eye specialist, and a curious reluctance for him to refer the patient to an E.N.T. surgeon, often preferring a neurological opinion which may involve the patient in expensive and unpleas...

Fully Endoscopic Microvascular Decompression: Our Early Experience

Background. Microvascular decompression (MVD) is a widely accepted treatment for neurovascular disorders associated with facial pain and spasm. The endoscope has rapidly become a standard tool in neurosurgical procedures; however, its adoption in lateral approaches to the posterior fossa has been slower. The endoscope is used primarily to assist conventional microscopic techniques. We are inter...

Unusual funduscopic manifestations of an ethmoidal mucocele.

The following case illustrates how an orbital tumour may mimic a posterior segment mass on funduscopy by virtue of its indentation of the globe. Imaging techniques are shown to be vital in the elucidation of the true pathology. Case report A 30-year-old woman complained of severe throbbing pain in the right orbital region, associated with lacrimation and nausea, which had been intensifying over...

Fronto-ethmoidal osteoma. Open treatment.

Among the paranasal sinuses, the frontal and ethmoid sinuses are most frequently involved. Osteoma grows very slowly and small lesions are often not symptomatic. On the other hand, sometimes patients present with symptoms such as sinusitis, headache or ophtalmologic manife...
